When we're in good health, cuts heal on their own, and broken bones mend themselves... without us having to consciously think about it. And in spite of the fact that we live an an ocean of lethal viruses and bacteria, our immune system protects us 99.9% of the time.

"Survive and thrive"... written into our genetic code.

We're designed to wake up alert and refreshed, to have plenty of energy all day... every day. And to be active and productive right up to 100!

That's right! According to cellular biologists, there's no physiological reason why we shouldn't be going strong in our 90s... and even past 100..

But there's a HUGE gap between what SHOULD be, and what IS.

  • 1 out of 2 Americans alive today WILL get cancer.
  • Heart attacks kill 450,000 each year.
  • And obesity and diabetes are now full-blown epidemics.

Simple cause and effect...

100 years ago we ate food grown in rich organic soils... and picked ripe. Now, according to the USDA, you'd have to eat 26 peaches to get the same nutritional value that you'd have gotten from 1 peach grown in the 1940s. That's because our fruit and vegetables are grown in depleted soils, sprayed with pesticides... and picked green.

Second, our grandparents mostly worked at jobs that were physically demanding. Today, we sit at a desk all day and then go home to watch TV.

The conclusion? Our poor diet and sedentary lifestyles have compromised our bodies' natural ability to defend, regulate and repair itself.

But the bad news is also the GOOD news!

Cause and effect is a two-way street! Getting back to vibrant health is as simple as correcting our diets and getting up off the couch.

A journey of discovery...

DecideToBeHealthy is the result of our personal quest to regain our own health. It's involved a reading, listening to good tapes... then CDs... and a lot of trial and error. But today, we have more energy and feel better that we did when we started, ten years ago. And we're excited about being active and productive many more years!
